What is Intensive Advanced Course?
Aiming at inculcating the spirit of Guru Shishya Parampara an Internship course is undertaken by Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre. This course is called as Three Years Intensive Advanced Course for Middle Level Dancers. Since 1987 Odissi Research Centre has started giving training to the talented students in Odissi dance and Odissi music from different regions of Odisha providing them stipend of Rs. 2000/- per month. However, the seats are limited for this course: 10 in Dance and 10 in Music.
The syllabus of this course basically includes, learning of dance and music. Besides other allied subjects such as: the basics of Taal and playing of Mardala at the basic level, knowledge about Oriya literature, Sanskrit literature, Geet Govinda, writing notations, the basic notes of singing (dance students), learning the theory part of the art of dance which are also taught to students or Internees during this course.

Eligibility to apply
1.The minimum age of the applicant should be 18 years and maximum 30 years.
2.The applicant should be a Graduate in Odissi dance or Odissi music from any recognized University or must have 5 years of learning in Odissi dance or Odissi music under the guidance of a recognized Guru .
3.Minimum educational qualification should be Matric.
4. The candidate should be able to perform and have the knowledge about theoretical aspect of Odissi dance and music
5. The candidate must be a permanent resident of Odisha.

Selection Criteria
Selection will be made on the basis of talent, performance quality, experience, knowledge of the art form and presentation quality of the candidate by the Selection Committee consisting of proficient Gurus in the field and is done only on merit basis.
Stipend & Accommodation
The selected candidates are eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs. 750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty) only for the period of training and free hostel accommodation if required.
