GKCMORC is a pioneer Institution under the Government of Odisha imparting teaching of Odissi dance and music.

Since It's Inception, many students have been nurtured by this institution who have gone on to become successfull artists themselves today, and some made a name for themselves worldwide.

Today the centre brings the same ethos to the teaching of Odissi dance and music (Both vocal and Instrument). Anybody who wishes to learn Odissi and wants to undertake a career in this, understand Odissi from an academic perspective and apply it to there future journey as a performer.

• Eligibility Criteria

  • Age of candidate should be between 18 years to 30 years
  • Candidate should have studied dance or music in any university or equivalent institution OR should have studied dance or music under a reputed Guru for at least 6 years.
  • General qualification: Candidate should be at least matriculation or 10th pass
  • Selection will be on the basis of performance of the candidate

• Selection Process

  • Audition and interview of applicants will be done in different zones which will be communicated to them in due course.
  • Gurus appointed for the same will evaluate them on the basis of their performance.
  • The decision regarding the same will be final and binding
  • Results will be published on the website and also individually communicated to the candidates.

• How To Apply ?

  • Speed Post / Courier : Application Form duly filled along with all enclosures, enclosed in an A4 envelope to be submitted by speed post or courier to the following address - PLOT No. 1/A, JAYADEV VIHAR, Bhubaneswar, Odisha 751013

  • Candidate should submit age proof before the interview process
  • If the candidate wants to apply for both dance and music then the candidate should send separate application for dance and also a separate application for music
  • Selected candidates shall be informed individually via email or phone
  • Applicants who are shortlisted for interview for Odissi Dance have to bring their own recorded music  to which they will have to perform during the audition
  • Candidates shortlisted for music will have to bring their own accompanists (mardala and harmonium maximum)
  • Candidates should reach the interview venue at least 2 hours prior to the alloted interview time.

    • All supporting documents for ID / Age proof (adhar card or birth certificate scan)

    • Address proof- Adhar card , Driving License or any other such document 

    • Educational qualification documents (10th, 12th, graduation if available )

    • Professional qualification ( Pracheen Kala Kendra Chandigarh or Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi or any other such certificate)
